Should You Be guilty of not flossing

Now, you might have heard your Eagle Rock dentist talk to you about this, especially if you tend to not do it. You’re always told to floss, to make sure that you take care of this, to ensure that you floss every single day in order to fight tooth decay, but is there any scientific evidence backing this? Well, the answer is no, and it doesn’t affect the health and teeth of the gums. If you don’t like flossing and find it hard to do, or you don’t floss all the time, this might be relieving. However, if you tend to get food stuck between your teeth, flossing will help with the health of your gums, allowing you to have less decay. However, is it luck or is it because they floss? That’s where the problem of no hard evidence comes in.

Now, this doesn’t mean you should give up cleaning your teeth, but rather, you should try to get some interdental brushers since they are easier to use, better on your gums, and they’re way more effective to reducing gum disease than floss might be for yourself.

However, flossing is a big part of oral hygiene still, since often the tooth can’t get in between the teeth where food and debris tends to grow. Brushing your teeth and not flossing isn’t that great for you. Flossing, along with brushing will allow you to clean every part of your teeth, since about 40% of your teeth are inaccessible to the toothbrush as well.

The best course of action is to floss at least once a day every single day, either after the last meal, or just before bed so that you don’t have any deposits sitting in between the teeth. You don’t have to do it after every single meal, but if you so want to, then go for it.

You should make sure that you use the right technique. That’s what matters. If you don’t really have the ability to use regular floss, there are also those picks that you can get that will help you with this.

Now, flossing has a number of benefits as well, anything from having cleaner teeth to preventing cavities, to even avoiding the possible tooth loss that might come. Flossing allows you to go into places that a toothbrush might not get, meaning that you’ll be able to give your mouth a better cleanup than before.

It can help to prevent bad breath, tartar buildup, gum disease, cavities, and other diseases linked to oral health, however, it’s important to remember that the quality of your flossing matters as well. If you do it badly, it won’t have any benefit to you, and it actually is why some science can’t prove it. Many of those studies often have too few of subjects to ascertain the benefits of flossing as well especially if the participants don’t know how to floss. However, if you’re going to take care of your teeth, you might want to make sure that you floss. There are dentists that might argue that flossing isn’t worth it, while others say flossing is more important than brushing. However, while they might argue until the cows come home, the best thing to remember out of all of this is to clean between your teeth. The best thing to do is to make sure that you either floss, or get the interdental brushes to help you get the best cleaning out there.

However, if you don’t want to worry about flossing, or even the technique needed for it, you should consider an interdental brush. An interdental brush will allow you to get those areas between the teeth that are often hard to reach, and though this might be weird to work with initially, and although you might not like it at first, it’s important that you consider this type of method too.
